Practice Policies
Laurie Pahel, MD and David Moore, PhD are the co-founders of Chapel Hill Psychoanalytic Practice. Both are graduates of the UNC-Duke Psychoanalytic Institute and members of the American Psychoanalytic Association having also received advanced certification from that Association. Dr. Pahel has a background in music (ECU), Ob/Gyn and Psychiatry (UNC). Dr. Moore has a background in philosophy and theology with a PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy from Virginia Tech. While Dr. Pahel sees adults, Dr. Moore also works with adults, as well as adolescents, couples and families. The charge per session is $120 with some adjustment in cases of special need. Our office at 902 Christopher Rd. Chapel Hill, NC 27514 near the intersection of 15/501 and 54 is walking distance from the UNC campus. We are not on insurance panels, but provide bills in a form that can be submitted by you to your insurance company.
